Vortex panel return - instructions for customer

Step 1 - Send us the Vortex Warranty Request Form
Step 2 - We'll ship the replacement panel(s)
Step 3 - Return the corners of defective panels

Step 1

First you will need to download, print and fill out our Vortex warranty request form, “WRF”, and send it back to Solar Direct via email, fax or mail with photos of the defective panel(s) clearly displaying the leak(s) in the panel(s).  Initial warranty claims must also submit a photograph(s) of the entire panel installation showing plumbing and fastening components to demonstrate that the system is installed according to the installation manual specifications.  At our discretion Solar Direct may request a copy of your installation contract, original invoice and or a copy of your contractors invoice to assist in verifying your warranty claim.

Note: You are required to complete all the requested information on the WRF, failure to do so can increase the warranty processing time and may result in denial of claim.

Step 2

When we receive your completed WRF our warranty processing department (WPD) will then begin the process of reviewing, approving, scheduling and finally shipping the replacement panel(s).  This process typically takes 7-14 business days (Note: 20-30 Business days during our spring and fall solar pool heating busy seasons).  Once the replacement panel(s) leaves our warehouse our accounting department is then instructed to charge your credit card the total cost of shipping the warranty replacement panel(s) plus an additional $10 warranty handling fee for each defective panel claiming warranty.  An invoice will be sent to you outlining these charges after the replacement panel(s) has left our warehouse.

Step 3

Download and print out our Panel Return Instructions. This form will include instructions on how to remove and replace the solar panel(s), remove the new panel(s) from the box, cut the four corners off of each of the defective panel(s) and ship the defective corners back to Solar Direct.

Note: Upon receipt of the replacement panel(s) you are allowed 30 days to send the 4 corners of each defective panel(s) back to Solar Direct.  If the corners are not received within the 30 day allotted time Solar Direct is then authorized to charge your credit card for the full retail cost of each replacement panel shipped.

Attention: Filing a fraudulent claim under the terms and conditions of the Vortex warranty coverage will automatically void any existing Vortex warranties.In addition, the full cost of the replacement panel(s) shipped will be charged to the credit card number provided to Solar Direct on the WRF.
